I approach each landscape with the purpose of not copying it, but instead I try to capture its essence and its beauty. Like Monet said, "I want to paint the air around the objects in the landscape."

   I think of landscapes as those moments between breaths, the sound after a water drop rejoins a puddle, the instant after a leaf breaks free and begins its journey. I approach my landscapes with the intent to allow the viewer to exhale and to reminisce about a moment in their life that brings them tranquility. My intent is to learn to enjoy things for what they are without over analyzing. There is so much Beauty in the simplicities of life. These paintings are what they are, moments in time that are recalled as fleeting memories!
